SED-16SJ is a 16-channel CCD vision counting machine, a fully automated mechanical-electrical-pneumatic system that counts and fills tablets, capsules, soft gelatin capsules, pills, and other solid particles into bottles

Funktionsweise
Bulk medicine in the 30–50 L hopper is fed via a three-stage electromagnetic vibratory feeder (closed-loop, frequency-adjustable) onto 16 parallel sliding tracks arranged in a 3-step staircase design to prevent overlap. At each channel a CCD linear camera with backlight imaging (~250 imaging points/channel, 0.12 mm resolution) uses area-based recognition to distinguish whole tablets, half tablets, doubles, and fragments. After counting, a modular small-gate (MAC USA solenoid valve + SMC Japan cylinder) and intermediate pre-store gate release the exact count into the awaiting bottle. A bottle-changing device advances the next empty bottle. Photoelectric sensors at entry/exit detect bottle presence and jams; defective bottles (over/under count, doubles, >20% broken tablets) are auto-rejected. Three-stage dust extraction prevents contamination during free-fall.
