SED-XG — Automatic Cap Screwing Machine

Operator pours caps into the hopper; a vibratory bowl orients caps and feeds them down a gravity chute to the cap-pickup point. Empty bottles arrive on a conveyor and are transferred to a star wheel (rotary plate) that spaces and indexes them through the capping station. As each bottle reaches the chute end, a cap is placed on top of the bottle (via push or drop). The constant-torque cap-screwing head descends, engages the cap and rotates until the preset torque is reached, at which point the head clutches and stops — guaranteeing consistent tightness without crushing the cap. Capped bottles are then released by the star wheel back to the conveyor for downstream operations. SICK color-mark sensors verify cap presence and bottle position; PLC with HMI provides recipe and parameter management.
