Electromagnetic force balance: the weighing pan is connected to a current-carrying coil placed in a permanent magnetic field. When mass is placed on the pan, gravity pulls it downward; an electromagnetic force is generated in the coil to oppose it. Sensor output is rectified and amplified, adjusting coil current until mechanical equilibrium is restored. The coil current is proportional to the weight, and the signal is processed to display mass. Uses German STL Institute sensor software technology for multi-point calibration and stability.
