Fonctionnement

The basic working principle of the colloid mill is shearing, grinding and high-speed stirring. Grinding depends on the relative motion of two toothed surfaces — one rotating at high speed, the other stationary — subjecting the material passing between them to enormous shear and friction forces. Simultaneously, the combined effects of high-frequency vibration and high-speed vortex action achieve effective dispersing, emulsifying, pulverizing and homogenizing of the material.
