Whole or pre-cut produce is fed into the hopper where the integrated crusher reduces it to pulp. The pulp then enters the screw chamber where a tapered screw (root diameter increases, pitch decreases toward the discharge) compresses the material progressively as it advances. Juice is forced through a 0.6 mm filter screen into the lower juice collector, while pomace exits through the annular gap between the conical screw tip and the axially-adjustable pressure head. Turning the handwheel clockwise (viewed from pomace outlet toward feed hopper) moves the pressure head left, narrowing the gap and increasing pomace resistance; counterclockwise widens the gap. Operators adjust the gap to balance juice yield and clarity per process requirements.
