Tap or raw water enters a 0.5 T storage tank and is pumped through a three-stage pre-treatment train: a quartz-sand filter removes suspended solids, an activated-carbon filter removes residual chlorine and organics, and a softener exchanges calcium and magnesium ions to prevent membrane scaling. Pre-treated water passes through a 20-inch 3-cartridge precision filter for final particulate removal, then is pressurised by a 1.1 kW high-pressure pump and fed to the 4040 RO membrane element. The membrane rejects dissolved salts, producing permeate collected in the pure-water tank; concentrate is discharged to drain. An automatic online flush cycle extends membrane life.
