Non-contact laser marking. A Yb-doped double-clad fiber laser produces a 1064 nm beam which is focused to a 10 μm spot, then steered by a computer-controlled high-speed scanning galvanometer to deflect the beam path and trace the desired pattern on the workpiece. Because the marking is force-free and contactless, product quality is essentially unaffected; the resulting mark has high contrast and durable text quality.
