Fonctionnement

Hot gelatin/glycerin/water shell solution and an oil-soluble fill are co-extruded through a concentric drop-head. A pulsed-cutting actuator partitions the co-extruded stream into uniform droplets that fall into a cooled liquid column. Surface tension forms a perfect sphere; the gel shell solidifies on contact with the cooling liquid, simultaneously forming, filling and sealing each soft capsule. Pellets are collected and transferred to a shaping rotary cage for surface drying, then placed on tray racks for further air-drying.
