Tablet cores tumble in a rotating pear/water-chestnut-shaped pan tilted 15–45° from horizontal. As the pan rotates at 28 rpm, coating solution is applied by spray or manually; warm air from the internal and external heaters (2 kW + 2 kW) blown into the pan dries each coating layer in succession.
