Fonctionnement

Main and auxiliary motors drive the bowl and screw conveyor through belts via a differential, so the cylindrical-conical drum and screw rotate in the same direction at a controlled speed difference. Centrifugal force deposits solids on the drum wall; the screw, rotating slightly faster, conveys solids toward the conical end for discharge. Clarified liquid flows along the cylinder bottom, collects in a hopper and is discharged through a chuck whose retainer height sets liquid-pool depth.
