PID-controlled heating block with high-precision temperature sensor. Sample is placed on the heated test platform; temperature is raised toward the set point; operator observes through magnifier (with illumination lamp) and records the temperature at which the sample begins to melt. Multiple runs may be averaged per the user's test standard.

Wipe machine with cotton cloth before and after each use; promptly clean residue from test platform. Spray rust-prevention oil on machine surface weekly (wipe off after 2 hours).
