Pan, gear reducer and motor are coaxial. Motor drives the reducer which rotates the pan clockwise; tablets/granules tumble inside under centrifugal force and friction. An integral stirrer keeps the bed uniform. Spray of wetting agent, binder or coating medium achieves film coating, granulation, polishing, or blending. The single-arm support tilts the pan: rotate mouth up to load, rotate mouth down to dump (a 0.25 kW dump motor handles tilt). A gas burner under the pan heats the bed for fast solvent evaporation.
