Wet material is fed by a quantitative no-shaft screw conveyor(WLS-280, 5.5 kW) into a W-shaped horizontal jacketed shell. Two hollow agitator shafts equipped with wedge-shaped hollow semicircular paddle blades rotate at 2–10 rpm. Saturated steam at 0.8 MPa flows through the shaft and into the blade hollows, conducting heat into the material on contact with the inclined blade surfaces. As the blades rotate, particles slide off the inclined surface, constantly renewing the heat-transfer surface. Bottom triangle scrapers prevent dead zones. Evaporated water is exhausted via a flash air exchanger(210 m²) and a cyclone separator(CLT/Aφ1100), then drawn by an 18.5 kW exhaust fan and an SMC-1600 water scrubber. Dried material exits via a discharge screw conveyor(WLS-240, 3 kW). Residence time 4–7 hours adjustable via feed rate and shaft speed.
