Pre-valve pressure P1 is throttled by valve core/seat into post-valve pressure P2. P2 enters the upper membrane chamber and acts on the top plate, balanced against spring reaction force. When P2 rises, the force on the top plate exceeds spring force, moving the valve core toward the seat to reduce flow and restore P2 to set point. When P2 falls, spring force opens the valve. The diaphragm/piston actuator translates pressure into mechanical valve movement without any external energy.
